Why Stay Hungry And Stay Foolish?

by Anton Amoto

I’m always thinking about this phrase when Steve Job’s used in his speech at Stanford University in 2005. Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish! Why stay hungry and stay foolish? What does it mean to you?

Well, it’s because Stay Hungry means always keep wanting something more, something new. While Stay Foolish means always keep an open mind, never think that you know everything.

Anyway, in this post I’m not going to discuss further about this phrase but actually to extend the definition of the word “hunger”. Why? Because today is the  Blog Action Day 2011 and the topic we’re going to share around the world is all about food.

Let me rephrase that “Stay Hungry And Stay Poverty”.

Why stay hungry and stay poverty when there’s so much to say about food?

We use food to mark times of celebration and sorrow. Lack of access to food causes devastating famines, whilst too much is causing a generation of new health problems.  It can cost the world, or be too cheap for farmers to make a living.

Below is an embedded World Food Day Quiz from Save the Children. It’s an interactive way to share surprising facts about hunger and the end of the quiz asks participants to take action to keep the US Congress from slashing the aid budget while famine ravages East Africa.
